Lithium Manganese Dioxide Battery Lithium manganese dioxide battery refers to a type of battery with lithium as the negative electrode and manganese dioxide as the positive electrode. Manganese dioxide battery has good low-rate and medium-rate discharge performance, low price, good safety performance, and is competitive with conventional batteries, so it is the first commercialized lithium battery.
Most of the lithium-manganese dioxide batteries used today are coin-shaped and cylindrical. Cylindrical batteries have a winding electrode core structure. The soft-package thin battery is a new product developed.
The typical open circuit voltage of a lithium manganese dioxide battery is 3.3V. The value of the working voltage depends on the discharge rate and the ambient temperature of the discharge. The working voltage at room temperature is generally 2.5~2.8V. The termination voltage is generally 2.0V. The battery of this system has the characteristics of flat discharge curve, good low-temperature performance (40% of the rated capacity at -20°C), low content reduction during storage (less than 1.5% annual capacity drop), and basically no voltage hysteresis. Generally, the capacity of a single battery is 0.025~10.SA.h.
Features 1. The price is relatively low: the cathode active material manganese dioxide adopts electrolytic manganese dioxide, which is a relatively cheap one among the cathode active materials of lithium batteries and can be widely promoted and applied;
2. The battery has excellent electrical performance: its specific energy is 5-10 times that of dry batteries (about 230wh/kg or 500wh/l), the load voltage is 2.8v, and the discharge voltage is relatively stable. It can work in the range of -40~+50℃;
3. Long battery storage life: the battery storage life exceeds 10 years under normal temperature conditions, and the annual capacity drops by about 1%;
4. The battery is safe and reliable: no gas is released during the storage and discharge of the battery, and the safety is good;
5. A wide variety of batteries: batteries include button batteries, column batteries, and rectangular batteries. Each type also has batteries of different sizes and structures, with capacities ranging from tens of mAh to hundreds of ampere hours. So it can meet the requirements of multiple applications.
Lithium manganese dioxide battery has a wide application range and is suitable for devices that require high voltage hysteresis and can discharge at a large current instantaneously. It is mainly used as a power source for automatic cameras, electronic calculators, radios, flashlights, electric toys, watches, etc. in the commercial (including household) fields. In the industrial field, it is mainly used as marine life-saving equipment, smart meter for water/electricity charge rate, power supply for positioning transmitter and memory device power supply for instruments. In the field of military equipment, it is mainly used as a power source for communication radios, security devices, night vision devices, small jammers, landmines, and sea mines.
